The Safari Blue excursion is an unforgettable full-day sea adventure in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, located off the southwest coast of Zanzibar. This protected marine zone is rich in biodiversity and known for its turquoise waters, lush mangroves, white-sand sandbanks, and vibrant coral reefs. The tour combines snorkeling, dhow sailing, seafood feasting, island exploration, and dolphin spotting.

 

🗓️ Itinerary:

8:00–9:00 AM – Hotel Pickup & Transfer to Fumba Village

You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Fumba, a traditional fishing village in the southwest of Zanzibar.

Meet your guides and crew, and receive a short safety briefing before boarding a traditional wooden dhow boat.

9:30 AM – Departure by Dhow

Set sail into the Menai Bay aboard a handcrafted dhow.

Enjoy panoramic views, and keep an eye out for dolphins, which are commonly seen in the area.

10:30 AM – Sandbank Stop

Drop anchor near an isolated pristine sandbank.

Time to swim, relax, sunbathe, and enjoy some light refreshments such as tropical fruits.

Great opportunity for photos with the sparkling turquoise backdrop.

11:30 AM – Guided Snorkeling Session

Head to one of the vibrant coral reefs for snorkeling.

You’ll be provided with masks, fins, and guidance as you explore a colorful underwater world full of tropical fish and corals.

Optional second snorkeling stop depending on conditions.

1:00 PM – Kwale Island & Seafood Feast

Arrive at Kwale Island, a lush tropical island where lunch is served.

Feast on a lavish seafood BBQ including grilled fish, calamari, lobster (seasonal), chicken, and local dishes with rice, sauces, and fresh tropical fruits.

After lunch, relax in hammocks, explore the island, or swim in the crystal-clear waters.

2:30 PM – Visit the Baobab Tree

Walk to see a majestic ancient baobab tree, one of the largest in Zanzibar.

Opportunity to climb part of the tree or take photos beneath its massive canopy.

3:00 PM – Optional Lagoon Swim (Tide Dependent)

Depending on the tide, you may visit a natural lagoon surrounded by mangroves for a peaceful swim.

4:00 PM – Sail Back to Fumba

Relax aboard the dhow as you sail back to Fumba, enjoying the breeze and late afternoon sun.

5:00–5:30 PM – Transfer Back to Hotel

Disembark at Fumba and return by vehicle to your hotel.
